We are proud to welcome professional footballer Joe Taylor as our newest ambassador, strengthening our charity’s mission to support men’s mental health across West Norfolk and beyond.
Taylor, known for his sharp attacking play, relentless work ethic, and rapid rise through clubs including King’s Lynn Town, Peterborough United, Colchester, Luton Town, and his current success with Lincoln City, has become one of the region’s most exciting young football talents. His journey from local grassroots football to the professional stage has made him a role model for young people and a respected voice within the community.
Speaking about his new role, Taylor said: “It was an honour to be approached by the 856 Foundation about being their ambassador. The 856 do so much for the local community raising awareness of mens mental health supporting them through counselling and many sports activities. We as men no matter how young or old don’t talk enough about how they are feeling, the 856 gives men a chance to do this.”
As an ambassador, Taylor will help raise awareness of the Foundation’s work, champion its message of openness, and support its growing programme of counselling, peer support, and sport‑based wellbeing activities.
Ian Prentice, Trustee added “We are delighted with Taylor’s involvement and this will help us reach even more men who may be struggling in silence. Joe’s connection to the local area, combined with his lived experience in the high‑pressure world of professional sport, makes him a powerful advocate for breaking stigma and encouraging men to speak up.”
